Due to the increasing demand forsecurity, the development of intelligent surveillancesystems has attracted considerable attention in recentyears. This study aims to develop a system that is able toidentify whether or not the people need help in a publicplace. Different from previous work, our work considersnot only the behaviors of the target person but also theinteraction between him and nearby people. In thepaper, we propose an event alarm system which candetect the human behaviors and recognize thehappening event through integrating the resultsgenerated from the single and group behavior analysis.Several new effective features are proposed in the study.Besides, a mechanism capable of extracting one-to-oneand multiple-to-one relations is also developed.Experimental results show that the proposed approachcan correctly detect human behaviors and provide thealarm messages when emergency events occur. 展开

This paper proposes a mobile videosurveillance system consisting of intelligent videoanalysis and mobile communication networking. Thismultilevel distillation approach helps mobile usersmonitor tremendous surveillance videos on demandthrough video streaming over mobile communicationnetworks. The intelligent video analysis includes movingobject detection/tracking and key frame selection whichcan browse useful video clips. The communicationnetworking services, comprising video transcoding,multimedia messaging, and mobile video streaming,transmit surveillance information into mobileappliances. Moving object detection is achieved bybackground subtraction and particle filter tracking. Keyframe selection, which aims to deliver an alarm to amobile client using multimedia messaging serviceaccompanied with an extracted clear frame, is reachedby devising a weighted importance criterion consideringobject clarity and face appearance. 展开

Human Detection for Video Surveillance in Hospital 收藏

This paper presents a human detectionsystem in a vision-based hospital surveillanceenvironment. The system is composed of threesubsystems, i.e. background segmentation subsystem(BSS), human feature extraction subsystem (HFES), andhuman recognition subsystem (HRS). The codebookbackground model is applied in the BSS, the histogramof oriented gradients (HOG) features are used in theHFES, and the support vector machine (SVM)classification is employed in the HRS. By means of theintegration of these subsystems, the human detection ina vision-based hospital surveillance environment isperformed. Experimental results show that the proposedsystem can effectively detect most of the people inhospital surveillance video sequences. 展开

In this paper, we propose a dynamicmulti-descriptor fusion (DMDF) approach to improvingthe retrieval accuracy of 3-dimensional (3D) modelretrieval systems. First, an independent retrieval list isgenerated by using each individual descriptor. Second,we propose an automatic relevant/irrelevant modelsselection (ARMS) approach to selecting the relevant andirrelevant 3D models automatically without any userinteraction. A weighted distance, in which the weightassociated with each individual descriptor is learnt byusing the selected relevant and irrelevant models, is usedto measure the similarity between two 3D models.Furthermore, a descriptor-dependent adaptive querypoint movement (AQPM) approach is employed toupdate every feature vector. 展开

The Android platform is the most popular mobile operating system. With the increase ofthe number of Android users, a lot of security issueshave occurred. In order to detect the maliciousbehaviors for the installed Android Apps, in this paper,we propose an Android malware detecting scheme byintegrating static and dynamic analysis methods. We useAndroguard and DroidBox to extract the features, andthen remove the irrelevant features. Then we employ thesupport vector machine (SVM) to classify the Androidmalware and benignware. From the result of ourproposed scheme, the proposed integrated static anddynamic analysis scheme with SVM can effectivelydetect the Android malware. 展开

Human faces can convey substantial information about a person, such as his or her age, race,identity, gender, and emotions. Such facial informationcan be obtained through techniques like human facialtracking and detection, facial recognition, genderclassification, emotion recognition, as well as ageestimation. Of these, gender classification is particularlyimportant due to its diverse applications in the fieldssuch as video surveillance and commercial advertising.In this thesis, we propose a method of gender classificationbased on run-length histograms. The proposed methoduses a run-length histogram to record the positioninformation of pixels, thereby efficiently improves therecognition rate and makes the technique suitable for abig-data multimedia database. The experimental resultsshow that the proposed method can achieve betteraccuracy than a multi-scale based method can. 展开

We proposed a horseshoe-shaped nanostructure formed by etching a gap on a ring structure.By numerical simulations, it was found that the localfield of the structure was significantly enhancedcompared with that of the traditional ring structure.Furthermore, an additional resonant peak appearedcorresponding to the electric field coupling in the gap,and this resonant wavelength was able to be tunedsignificantly by the particle size, gap size, and gapposition. 345 GHz Band-Pass Filter Using Ultra-PrecisionMachining Technology 收藏

This paper presents a terahertz (THz) band-pass filter using ultra-precision machiningtechnology based on Chebyshev filter prototype. Thisiris inductive window coupled waveguide filter wasdesigned by using 8 resonant cavities with a centerfrequency of 345 GHz and a 7% bandwidth. The finaldesign fulfills the desired specifications and presents theminimum insertion loss of 1.55 dB and the return loss ofless than 15 dB at 345 GHz. The stop-band rejection is50 dB off the center frequency about 30 GHz, whichmeans it has a good performance of high stop-bandsuppression. Compared with the recent development ofTHz filters, this filter possesses the characteristic ofsimple structure and is easy to machining. 展开
